Common Questions About Final Expense Insurance

WHAT IS A FINAL EXPENSE PLAN?

Final expense insurance is a financial benefit left to those you love that pays for the cost of your funeral when you die. Also known as burial insurance, these plans can pay for more than burial or cremation costs. A good final expense plan can leave money to eliminate medical bills, debt, and other expenses not taken care of while you were alive.

IS FINAL EXPENSE INSURANCE A GOOD DEAL?

Who will have to pay for your funeral, and can they come up with $10,000 – $15,000 to do so? You may not need a final expense plan if you already have that money earmarked for your family. If your loved ones will struggle, a good burial plan may be more than worth it. Not only eliminating the financial burden but also the infighting that can occur over money.

WHAT DOES FINAL EXPENSE INSURANCE COST?

Final expense insurance is a life insurance plan. The costs will vary by age, gender, health, and lifestyle. We shop through hundreds of plans, so you don’t have to. Use our instant final expense insurance quoter.

WHO HAS THE BEST FINAL EXPENSE INSURANCE?

The best final expense company is actually more than one. You want a company with good financial strength, low rates, and pays out quickly. Depending on which you can qualify for, a few great life insurance carriers to use are Mutual of Omaha, Royal Neighbors of America, American-Amicable, Foresters Life, Guarantee Trust Life, and Sentinel Security, among many others.

WHY WE DO IT

We’ve Been There

We have family members we love and care about, and know our time here on earth is precious. Like many, we have lost loved ones and seen the hardship it can cause for those left behind.

When we pass, the days following our death should be filled with memories of joy and happiness, not the despair of wondering how to pay for a funeral.

To ensure this happens, we choose to leave the gift of a burial life insurance plan, leaving the money to pay for the costs. We try to help others do the same.

What Type of Final Expense is Available?

WHOLE LIFE LEVEL COVERAGE

A whole life level plan is permanent life insurance; unlike term insurance, it lasts as long as you do. The rates are locked in and never increase, while the death benefit never decreases. Coverage is immediate as soon as the first month’s premium is paid.

WHOLE LIFE GRADED

A Graded Whole life plan is also permanent life insurance with immediate coverage available. The difference is the death benefit will be reduced for the first year or two. For example, if you die in year one, your beneficiary receives 50% of the death benefit paid, then 100% of the death benefit paid in year two. These vary by company.

GUARANTEED ISSUE

Guaranteed Issue Whole Life is coverage with no medical exams and no health questions. If you are over the age of 50 and a legal resident, you can qualify for coverage. The death benefit is a return of premium plus interest for the first two years, the full death benefit. If the cause of death is an accident, the plan pays 100% on day one.

TERM LIFE INSURANCE

Term life insurance is Not permanent. It expires, typically before the insured does. Because most people outlive the “Term” period, it is cheap. This coverage is not recommended for Final Expense planning unless you know when you are going to die, and if you did, you would not qualify for the coverage.
